We are very excited to begin our 2021 pool season on Saturday, May 15 10:00am-9:00pm! The board has been monitoring Mecklenburg County Health Department guidelines. Their guidelines permit us to operate up to 100% capacity outside. Our annual maintenance projects which include pressure washing of the pool deck and furniture, paint touch up, and landscaping have been completed; the tennis pavilion staining will be completed soon. We look forward to the completion of the pool pavilion in the upcoming weeks.
Members and staff will continue to practice the 3 W’s, wash your hands, wait 6’ apart and wear masks in the restrooms. Staff will wear masks inside the snack bar and inside the pool house areas. Lifeguard staff will sanitize tables and high touch areas throughout the day.
The Dolphin Diner will be open this summer offering a full menu. The gas grill will be available for member use. Please remember that it is your responsibility to clean the grill and make sure the grill is turned off once you are finished grilling. Please note that only one grill is available, the flat top grill is for Dolphin Diner staff.
Why leave the Rush to watch your favorite team kickoff, tee off, or score? The new pool pavilion will have 3 large screen TVs plus 3 ceiling fans! The TVs will be accessible for viewing on weekends and when the pavilion is rented for private parties. Lifeguard staff will keep the TV remotes in a secure place.
A couple of important rules to remember are below along with the attached pool rule:
Please remember that under no circumstance is glass of any kind allowed on Windyrush property. This includes casserole dishes, coffee mugs, bottles, cups, wine glass inserts, and Swim Masks are not allowed. You are posing a danger to yourself and other members if the glass was to shatter. Please note: Any member or member’s guest who is confronted about having glass at our facility will be asked to leave for the day and your membership itself will be reviewed by the Board of Directors for possible termination if this simple rule of NO GLASS is broken.
A guest may visit no more than ten (10) times per pool season. Every guest must check in at the front desk and register with their host member present along with paying the guest fee. Guest fees are $5 per person, $10 per person on holidays. An index card will keep track of how many visits that visitor has had for the season. Once the visits are used up, the visitor may not visit the pool again until the following season.
Out of town visitors must show identification showing their place of residence. Windyrush members who have visitors residing in Pineville or Mathews is not considered an out-of-town guest. Approximately fifty miles is considered as “out of town”. We appreciate your understanding with these adjustments to our visitation policy and feel that it is only fair to our paying members.
Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns and let’s get excited for yet another fantastic fun and safe season at the RUSH!
