Sept 2017

Board Notes

As fall approaches and the pool season comes to an end we are grateful for another safe, fun filled summer in the pool and on the courts. We would like to extend our appreciation to our pool management company, Swim Club Management Group and the lifeguard staff they provided us with along with our snack bar manager, Teresa Hollmeyer, snack bar employees and our tennis pro, Susie Brown. The 2017 season has been so much fun for all of our Windyrush families! We had a summer full of socials planned by our Board members Dave McDonald and Chris Hunt. They kicked off the season with a beer tasting followed by a movie night, Memorial Day festivities, 4th of July event, Labor Day, grills and guitars and a very entertaining night with Trail by Fire, Journey Tribute Band!

Please mark your calendars for this year’s Annual Membership Meeting. The meeting will be held on Sunday, November 12 at 5:30pm. This year’s meeting will be held at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church located on Rea Road.  At this meeting the membership will be electing 4 board members. Members have 1 vote per family. The positions up for re-election this year are Vice President and three at-large positions (socials, ladies tennis representative and grounds/pool). Current board members, Ed Riesmeyer is running for Vice President,  Dave McDonald at-large socials, ladies tennis representative is an open position, and Mark Wilson at-large grounds/pool. Four board nominees of the five open are running unopposed.

Even though we have members willing to serve in the above positions, if you or someone you know is interested in serving on the board, please send your name or your friend’s name to Board officers’ will serve a two-year term, attend monthly meetings and have a membership dues benefit after serving one year.

A nominating committee made up of the Board President, Secretary, Club Manager and two members will be reviewing all nominations and presenting the names for election to the membership at the upcoming Annual Membership Meeting. A Board candidate newsletter will be emailed soon to provide more details about all nominees.
